CLEVELAND, Ohio – Home on break from school or taking time off from work around the holidays? There’s only so many presents you can wrap before you need to take a breather. If you plan on curling up and looking for something new to binge-watch this holiday season, here are some suggestions based on Google’s top trending searches for TV shows in 2022.
The list features a few returning favorites as well as some of the hottest new shows and a couple surprises. Streaming services once again dominated, but a couple cable hits were also big this year too.
10. ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’
– First Disney+ series to make this year’s list was Marvel’s attempt at a legal comedy and featured multiple actors who appeared in MCU films.
9. ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’
– Long-awaited Disney+ series answered the question of what the Jedi master was up to between Episode III and Episode IV.
8. ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’
– Teen love drama represents Amazon Prime’s only entry in the top 10 (sorry, Lord of the Rings fans).
7. ‘Yellowstone’
– The hit series from Paramount Network stars Kevin Costner and helped launch a series of spinoffs including ‘1883′ and ‘1923′. Check out the current season of ‘Yellowstone’ on Philo or Seasons 1-4 on Peacock.
6. ‘Moon Knight’
– The third Disney+ show to make this year’s list, one more than 2021 was a surprise hit starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke.
5. ‘House of the Dragon’
– The first ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel appeared on HBO Max and featured the beginnings of what will become a civil war between Daenerys’ ancestors in Westeros.
4. ‘Inventing Anna’
– Julia Garner portrays fake heiress Anna Delvey in this Netflix limited series
3. ‘The Watcher’
– Based on a true story, this surprise Netflix hit dropped in October.
2. ‘Stranger Things’
– Fans waited years for the latest season of Eleven and her friends’ adventures in Hawkins and beyond.
1. ‘Euphoria’
– The HBO hit returned for its second season at the start of 2022.
